I recently bought a ps2 and I've been playing Ratchet: Deadlocked online and there is a decent amount of people to play with. But I want to buy some other sick games to play online. I'll take any ideas shooters, racing games, anything!

i did some research for you and found a few games, call of duty or medal of honor might be good. also i know that rockband and guitar hero are great games even though its not a shooter game, but its awesome.
gan turismo 4 is great and need for speed undercover 4 is too if you want a few racing games.
